More Honeymoon Pictures

We've been back in Los Angeles for a month now but we're far from getting all the way settled in. Perhaps that can be the excuse for why we're still working to get our honeymoon pictures online.

Three new sets of photos are now online. Additionally, you can now see all of the honeymoon pictures we've posted on a map of Kauai. Flickr, the photo site we use, recently added the ability to place photos on a map and we've gone through and placed our shots as closely as we're able. Zoom in to get more detail, and when you're in close be sure to use the satellite view. When viewing any individual photo you can also click the map link to see where that shot was taken.

Click on the three photos to view the new sets.

First of the Honeymoon Pictures

We've been back in LA for just a week and a half now, and we've finally dug ourself out of unpacking enough to get the first batch of honeymoon pictures online.

These first shots are from an eight mile hike we did our second day in Kauai. It took us down the edge of the Na Pali Coast and back to an amazing waterfall. It was definitely rigorous, though, particularly with all the mud on the trail. We underestimated how much fluid we'd lose via sweat in the super-humid heat and finished the hike wishing we'd brought far more to eat and drink.

The next day we went several places. These shots are from a place called Secret Beach and its accompanying lava pools (not pools of lava... pools in lava rocks). The beach is enormous and some decent snorkeling could be found out in the waters near shore.

The same day we stopped at the Hanalei Lookout and then made our way to Pu'u Poa Beach. Particularly fascinating in this set is a sailboat stuck on the rocks in Hanalei Bay. Those rocks can be very shallow depending on the tide, as we found while out snorkelling. The tide started going out and all of a sudden rocks we had been several feet over were right up at our level. We were very glad to find it was rock and not live coral.

Combined these sets make up around 110 of the 700 or so pictures we took. Not all are worth putting online, but there will be lots more coming in a few days.

First Shots from the Big Day

The wedding was yesterday and we had an amazing time. It was so good to see everyone who was able to attend.

There will be plenty more photos coming in the next few weeks, but we wanted to go ahead and put these first shots up for you to see. They're off our digital camera so there are none of the wedding itself, but plenty of fun shots.

We're packing today and early tomorrow morning we head off to Kauai so don't expect more updates until we return. We'll post plenty more then, though.

Three More Days

Kathy's good friend Erin arrived in town yesterday. Erin just graduated from USC with a degree in vocal performance, and will be singing at both the wedding and the reception. Here the two are pictured on the Grand Haven pier, which we walked after dinner.

With so many out of town guests coming in for the wedding one of the remaining logistical adventures is that of coordinating airport pickups. That coordination job has been delegated to Eric.

Five More Days

Eric: I'm a little slow getting this posted, but Saturday I flew back to Michigan. My mom, Amy and Kathy met me at the airport and brought me back home. I had spent the night before moving my stuff into the new apartment, so I was pretty worn out but I'm pretty much recovered from that at this point. Only five more days until the wedding...
